Marie D. Tranakas was born and raised in South Florida. She graduated from the University of Miami, with her Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in business management, and minors in art history, and health sector management and policy. She later attended the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor.
Marie began her legal career interning in the Elderly Abuse Unit, at the Office of the State Attorney, 17th Judicial Circuit, and then clerking for a Broward Circuit Court Judge. She next clerked for a mid-size civil defense firm, before going on to practice at a workers’ compensation defense firm in 2015.
During law school, Marie was a teaching assistant for Appellate Advocacy and Legal Writing. She was also a member of the Mediation Clinic, and earned her Pro Bono Certificate.
